Anker Laptop Power Bank 25,000mAh Review: The 165W Number Needs Context

Anker Laptop Power Bank 25,000mAh Review: The 165W Number Needs Context

The Anker Laptop Power Bank is designed for the person who carries a laptop, phone, and several cables but cannot count on an outlet. The useful part of the product is not simply “25,000mAh” or “165W.” It is the way those numbers are shared between ports, the 595 g weight in your bag, and whether your laptop actually needs this much output.

Review scopeThis review uses the manufacturer’s A1695 specifications and the current Amazon offer. I have not measured charging speed or battery runtime with a laptop, so the recommendations focus on the published power limits and travel trade-offs.

The 165W claim, translated

Connected devicesPublished maximumWhat to expect
One deviceUSB-C ports can reach up to 100 W each.Check your laptop’s required USB-C PD profile.
Two devicesUp to 165 W total. This is where the headline number applies.
Three or four devicesUp to 130 W total.Adding devices changes the available budget.
USB-A deviceUp to 33 W.Useful for accessories, not a laptop replacement.

That table is the detail I would want before buying. “165W” does not mean 165W arrives at every port simultaneously. The manufacturer lists three USB-C ports, USB-A up to 33 W, and built-in/retractable cables. It is a flexible setup, but the power budget still has to be shared.

Capacity is not the same as delivered energy

The rated 25,000mAh capacity is measured at the battery-cell level. The manufacturer FAQ explains that conversion and heat reduce the amount delivered to devices, giving a typical loss range of roughly 30–45%. That is why I would not promise a fixed number of laptop or phone charges from the label alone.

For a travel day, the more useful question is whether the battery can cover your laptop’s critical work session and still leave reserve for your phone. Check your laptop charger’s wattage, bring a properly rated USB-C cable, and remember that a demanding laptop can consume power while it is operating.

What you carry for the convenience

Reasons to buy

  • Enough capacity for a laptop-focused travel kit.
  • Multiple USB-C ports plus USB-A and built-in cables.
  • Display shows remaining battery and power flow.
  • Pass-through charging is supported under the manufacturer’s stated conditions.

Reasons to pause

  • 595 g is noticeable in a small everyday bag.
  • Three or four devices reduce the total output ceiling.
  • Usable energy is lower than the 25,000mAh label suggests.

Who should buy it?

BUY IT

You work away from outlets

A laptop, phone, and accessories can share one battery instead of competing for the next wall socket.

BUY IT

You want fewer loose cables

Built-in and retractable cables can make a travel kit tidier, provided the connector and power rating fit your devices.

LOOK ELSEWHERE

You only charge a phone

A smaller power bank will be lighter and easier to justify.

Verdict

I would choose this Anker model when a USB-C laptop is part of the travel plan and the extra weight replaces a charger or a second battery. I would not buy it for casual phone charging. The product earns its size through power flexibility, but only if you understand the shared-output limits and plan around the capacity you can actually deliver.
